A good app for making fake drivers’ licenses may be pulled from the actual App Store subsequent political pressure. An organization called the Coalition for any Secure Driver’s Permit says that Senator Frank Casey from Pa recently sent the letter to Apple company CEO Tim Prepare, asking that the actual app — merely called License — end up being removed. The CSDL charges how the title contained license templates for those 50 US says, which if imprinted and laminated might pass for the genuine article. A check from the App Store exhibits no sign from the software, which was made by DriversEd.com.

“I think this application presents a threat in order to public safety as well as national security… it can be used in a manner that allows criminals to produce a new identity, steal another person’s identity, or permit underage youth to buy alcohol or cigarettes illegally, ” a part of Casey’s letter scans. “National security systems rely on the trustworthiness associated with driver’s licenses, yet having a counterfeit license developed by the app, a terrorist might bypass identity verification through the Transportation Security Management, or even obtain a passport. ”

The actual CSDL says it’s president, Brian Zimmer, initially sent a notice to Apple’s older VP for iOS — Scott Forstall — within April. The app by itself though was readily available for over two many years, raising the query of why none from the parties involved required action sooner. Apple company policies normally display out apps that enable illegal actions.
